Fr. Thomas Knoebel, SHST vice rector, was elected president of the Midwest Association of Theological Schools (MATS) at its annual meeting in Chicago Friday.
He adds his new title to a long list of leadership positions in the theological education community. Among them, he is on the Executive Committee of the Seminary Division of the National Catholic Education Associate (NCEA), and is the division’s representative to the NCEA Board.
A published author, Fr. Knoebel holds a Ph.D. from Fordham University and received his master of divinity degree from St. Francis Seminary in Milwaukee. He has served at Sacred Heart for 30 years, and has been a seminary delegate to MATS for more than 20.
