Sacred Heart School of Theology welcomed nine new students from around the world to its renowned English-as-a-Second-Language Program this month. The group includes five priests from the central African nation of Burundi and a priest from Poland. Also studying are two students preparing for the seminary – a man from Guatemala and Vietnam native who is a U.S. citizen – as well as a Brazilian woman involved with lay ministry for the Priests of the Sacred Heart, the religious order that owns Sacred Heart School of Theology. Fr. Armin Russi, OSB, a Swiss priest who is visiting Sacred Heart on his sabbatical, is also taking ESL classes. Most of the students are posing here with their instructors. Several of the students are experiencing snow for the first time.
