Vice President for Human Formation

Reporting directly to the president-rector, the vice president for human formation is responsible for overseeing the seminary’s human formation program. This is a full-time position starting August, 2014.

The applicant must be a Roman Catholic priest possessing at least a master’s degree, though preference will be given to those with a canonical degree or advanced study in a formation-relevant area. The candidate must have worked in the formation field, preferably in a seminary context. Evidence of administrative competence and pastoral skill must also be provided.

Director of Homiletics

The director of homiletics is a full-time, graduate-level seminary appointment starting August, 2014. The applicant must be a Roman Catholic priest or deacon possessing at least a master's degree, though preference will be given to those with a canonical degree, advanced study in homiletics, or doctoral degree. The candidate will provide evidence of classroom teaching ability, compelling preaching skills, and pastoral experience. The position may also include formation advising of seminarians.

Director of Liturgical Music and Organist

SHST seeks candidates for a full-time, graduate-level seminary appointment as Director of Liturgical Music and Organist starting August 2014. Applicant must be a Roman Catholic possessing at least a master’s
degree, though preference will be given to those with a canonical degree, or Doctor of Sacred Music degree. Candidate will provide evidence of outstanding service playing skills, choral conducting skills, cantor formation and exhibit faithfulness to the General Instruction of the Roman Missal, The General Instruction of the Liturgy of the Hours and Sing to the Lord; Music in Divine Worship. Applicants will also demonstrate competence with a wide range of musical styles for the liturgy from Gregorian Chant to contemporary expressions of sung prayer as well as experience in multicultural liturgical music. As a talented and proficient organist, the successful candidate will play the seminary chapel's 1994 Berghaus II/35rank mechanical action pipe organ. Position may also include teaching responsibilities.

Registrar and Academic Planning Officer

SHST seeks candidates for a full-time Registrar and Academic Planning Officer. Primary areas of responsibility include management of academic records and course enrollment, as well as student advising, report generation, accreditation supervision, and assessment coordination. This position reports directly to the vice president for academic affairs in the coordination of daily operations and strategic planning. The candidate will provide evidence of strong organizational skills, interpersonal communication abilities, and analytical capacities. The successful candidate must demonstrate an attention to detail and sufficient computer mastery to employ the school's student information system and other software applications. Master's degree or higher preferred.

Director of Liturgy and Liturgical Formation

SHST seeks candidates for a full-time, graduate-level seminary appointment as Director of Liturgy and Liturgical Formation starting August 2014. Applicant must be a Roman Catholic priest possessing at least a master’s degree, though preference will be given to those with a canonical degree, or doctoral degree. Candidate will exhibit a love for the Church's liturgical prayer and faithfulness to the General Instruction of the Roman Missal, The General Instruction of the Liturgy of the Hours, and the Ceremonial of Bishops. The candidate will have experience in liturgical leadership, coordination and planning. Applicants will also demonstrate an appreciation for a diversity of liturgical styles and multicultural liturgy. Position will include teaching responsibilities in liturgical/sacramental theology and the formation of seminarians for liturgical ministries. The Director of Liturgy and Liturgical Formation will work closely and collaboratively with the President-Rector and the Director of Liturgical Music.
