Vice President for External Affairs
The Vice President for External Affairs is a full time employee of Sacred Heart Seminary and School of Theology (SHSST) responsible for the promotion of the institution, recruitment of seminarians/students, and coordination of the admission process of the applicants.
This position reports directly to the President-Rector, and supervises the Director of Communications, the Assistant to the Director of Communications and Recruitment, and the Administrative Assistant for Admissions. Excellent organization, communication and planning skills are required. A master degree level in communications or equivalent with experience in Catholic Church ministry, or a master degree level in Theology or equivalent with experience in communications is required. Ability to communicate in Spanish is preferable. Applicant must be a practicing Roman Catholic in good standing.

Vice President for Human
Reporting directly to the president-rector, the vice president for human formation is responsible
for overseeing the seminary’s human formation program. This is a full-time position.
The applicant must be a Roman
Catholic priest possessing at least a master’s degree, though preference will be given to
those with a canonical degree or advanced study in a formation-relevant area. The candidate
must have worked in the formation field, preferably in a seminary context. Evidence of
administrative competence and pastoral skill must also be provided.

Spanish Language Instructor
Sacred Heart Seminary and School of Theology, seeks candidates for a part-time teaching appointment in Spanish language instruction starting August, 2015.
Language instruction is a key component of the seminary’s Hispanic Ministry program, which prepares seminarians and other students to serve in Spanish-speaking parishes.
The successful candidate will employ an interactive pedagogical technique which focuses on vocabulary used in pastoral ministry contexts. The teaching load is two courses a semester, with classes meeting twice a week for one hour each class session. Applicants must possess a bachelor degree and teaching experience, with preference given to candidates with a master’s degree in Spanish or education and pastoral ministry experience in a Spanish-speaking context.
