Collaboration for Sacred Heart and Archdiocese of Milwaukee
Sacred Heart School of Theology will begin providing intellectual formation for Archdiocese of Milwaukee
seminarians in September 2006. Saint Francis de Sales the archdiocesan seminary, will remain open.
Milwaukee seminarians will live at Saint Francis where they will continue to receive the spiritual-human
formation that is a core component of the Catholic Church's priestly formation program. They will attend
classes at Sacred Heart.
Fr. Tom Cassidy, S.C.J., Sacred Heart president-rector commented, " We thank Archbishop Dolan for
the trust he has shown in Sacred Heart School of Theology to provide quality education for the
seminarians of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. This is an exciting new venture for both Sacred Heart and
Saint Francis. The partnership provides an excellent quality formation program and responsible fiscal
stewardship for all concerned."
Milwaukee joins 35 other dioceses and religious communities currently sponsoring
seminarians at Sacred Heart School of Theology. Administrators of both seminaries are working out the
details of implementing the new partnership.
